Creating the digital backbone of SunTec’s new Technocity headquarters
SunTec Business Solutions embarked on an ambitious journey to build a worldclass, 10-acre corporate campus at Technocity IT Park in Pallippuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
In April 2020, SunTec partnered with CommScope and Magnum Networks Support to design and deploy a future-ready digital backbone.
Despite COVID-19 disruptions, the teams collaborated virtually to keep the project on schedule.
Infrastructure Highlights
- ICT & ELV Networks:
o ICT for data, communication, and IT networking.
o ELV for physical security, access control, and building automation. - Fiber & Copper Cabling:
o 4,000 m of TeraSPEED® singlemode fiber for campus connectivity.
o LazrSPEED® OM4 fiber for in-building backbone.
o GigaSPEED® X10D® - Cat 6A copper cabling for 10 GbE applications.
- Powered Fiber System (PFCS): Hybrid solution combining power + data, enabling links up to 3 km for Wi-Fi, CCTV, and security lighting.
- Data Center:
o Tier 3 facility with 14 racks (expandable to 28).
o Efficient cooling, NOVEC 1230 fire suppression, VESDA smoke detection, and multi-layered security.
o Sustainability focus: optimized PUE, intelligent cooling, and reduced carbon emissions. - CommScope imVision® & iPatch® solutions provided real-time monitoring and automation of physical layer connections.
